Wasatch Fault, Utah

The Utah chapter of EERI has completed the Scenario for a Magnitude 7.0 Earthquake on the Wasatch Fault-Salt Lake City Segment: Hazards and Loss Estimates. Visit the Wasatch Fault Scenario page on the chapter website for additional information.

A number of studies have been conducted to help understand the earthquake problem in Utah, particularly the problem with unreinforced masonry construction. HAZUS-MH has been used to analyze potential losses. In addition, a version of Putting Down Roots in Earthquake Country has been developed for Utah.
